About Myself

A BIG Hello to all who visit these pages.

I hope you enjoy my little contribution to the pleasures and beauty of the Great Outdoors. I have walked and rambled in most areas, but mostly in the North of England within reach of Manchester, where I live.

 I used to dabble in climbing and abseiling, mountain biking, caving and potholing, crown green bowling, but owing to a bad back, (from 25 yrs as a Postman) no longer able to what I would like. But, gathered from my walking exploits, my humble attempts at Digital Photography, can be viewed by clicking on the link, Photo Gallery and I will also put a link to my Scouting page.

Scouting has taken up over 20 years of my spare time! (some not so spare as well!)  I had (and still have to some degree) a passion for anything outdoors, so I suppose it was natural for me to join Scouting to pass on some of my knowledge and experience. I was the Akela at the 8th St. Margaret's Scout Group in Prestwich, Manchester for 9 years, now just an occasional ACSL. I still hold some Scouting authorizations and put my two pennyworth in when asked for advice.
